Rockstar's Unbroken Tradition
Every mainline Grand Theft Auto game from GTA 1 (1997) through GTA V (2013) has included cheat codes. From GTA San Andreas's legendary HESOYAM to GTA 5's TURTLE armour restoration, cheats have been a foundational part of the GTA experience. There is every reason to expect GTA 6 continues this tradition.
Expected Cheat Types
Based on 25 years of GTA cheat history, expect: timed invincibility (5 minutes, not permanent — to prevent trivialising content), health and armour restoration, weapon set unlocks (multiple tiers), wanted level raise and lower, weather cycling, gravity modification, slow-motion gameplay, and vehicle spawning for specific iconic cars, bikes, and aircraft.
How Entry Will Work
Modern GTA cheats are entered via controller button sequences on console and text codes on PC. GTA 5 also introduced phone-based cheat entry — typing codes into the in-game smartphone — which is more accessible than memorising button sequences. GTA 6 is expected to continue and expand the phone-based entry method.
No Money Cheat
Money cheats have been intentionally absent since GTA IV in 2008. Rockstar's in-game economy drives engagement with GTA Online and its microtransaction system. GTA 6 will almost certainly not include a money cheat in story mode. The closest alternative will be stock market and mission-based money methods similar to GTA 5.
Cheats and Achievements
Using cheats in GTA 6 will disable trophies and achievements for the duration of that session — exactly as in GTA 5. Maintain a separate save file specifically for cheat-enabled play to avoid losing progression toward 100% completion. On PC, some modded cheat menus will exist as fan-made alternatives to official codes.
